1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage (to save your quiz progress) and tracking pixels. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary: authentication cookies that keep you signed in (Supabase Auth), local storage that saves your quiz progress and session id, and our own first-party measurement of quiz steps, which is tied to that session id, stays on our servers, is never shared with advertisers and is not used to build profiles. The Service cannot work without these; they are always active.

Analytics: where enabled, Google Analytics 4 and PostHog product analytics, used to understand how the quiz is used and to improve it. These load only after you accept.

Advertising / measurement: where enabled, Meta Pixel, used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and build advertising audiences. These may involve third-party cookies set by Google or Meta.

3. Your choices

Where required by law (for example, in the UK/EEA), non-essential cookies are used only with your consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Declining stops Google Analytics, PostHog and the Meta Pixel; our own first-party step counting continues, because it is how the Service knows where you are in the quiz.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in and quiz progress from working.

To opt out of Google Analytics you can use Google's browser add-on; to manage Meta advertising preferences visit your Meta ad settings.

4. Retention

Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies and local storage remain until they expire or you delete them; analytics identifiers are retained per the respective provider's policy.
